Are services free?

Yes. Consultants are available to answer your questions and provide one-on-one help. Premium websites such as Ancestry, NewspapersArchive, and many more can be used without charge on our Center computers. Scanners for digitizing photos, slides, VHS videos, audio cassette tapes, and books are available on a first-come, first-served basis.

Do I need an appointment?

Appointments are not needed unless you would like to come in outside of regular hours or you have a group. If so, please request an appointment and we will review our openings and contact you.

What equipment is available?

We have over 50 fast and up-to-date computers to build and connect your family tree. Scanners for photos, slides, tapes, and books are ready for use. We have eight large Discovery Center screens ready to sign in to explore the possibilities of your family history.

Do you have rooms available for groups?

Yes. We have a large conferences room that seats 48 with projection capability. We also have a small classroom with projection capability and 14 computers for small group instruction. Use is available by appointment.

Can I bring my child(ren)?

Yes. We have a children’s play area within eyesight and hearing range of the research area so parents can work on their family history while watching their children nearby.

Are snacks available?

Yes. We have a lunchroom and snacks are available for purchase.

Is there storage for personal items?

Yes. We have lockers available for personal items during your visit to the FamilySearch Center.

How Does FamilySearch Work?

FamilySearch is entirely based on you! Volunteers from around the globe contribute billions of photos, documents, and family trees to form FamilySearch. Come take a tour and support a great family cause.
