Not sure how to start researching your family history? This class gives an overview, with practical tips on how to tackle it. We’ll discuss starting points, finding your focus, and getting your information organized. The class looks at the basic records everyone needs for genealogy research, including censuses and vital records (birth, marriage, and death), where to find them, and how to interpret them. Jennifer Dix worked as a news reporter and editor for more than 20 years before turning her focus to genealogy. Her passion is connecting the clues that tell a life story. She has served on the CGS Board since 2018 and manages the CGS blog and social media. She is also co-editor of our journal, The California Nugget. She is a graduate of the Boston University Genealogical Research Certificate Program and ProGen 37. IN PERSON AND ZOOM.
