Getting Started on your Genealogy Part 1 | Sept. 7, 2:00 PM

September 7 @ 2:00 PM - 3:00 PM PDT

Not sure how to start researching your family history? This class gives an overview, with practical tips on how to tackle it. We’ll discuss starting points, finding your focus, and getting your information organized. The class looks at the basic records everyone needs for genealogy research, including censuses and vital records (birth, marriage, and death), where to find them, and how to interpret them. These Research Discussion sessions are sponsored jointly by the California Genealogical Society and the Oakland FamilySearch Center. IN PERSON ONLY (NO ZOOM).
