The Oakland FamilySearch Center is a free community resource to the Bay Area, and everyone is welcome to come and use it. The FamilySearch Center is accessible down the stairs or by elevator from inside the Visitors’ Center.

Yes. Consultants are available to answer your questions and provide one-on-one help. Premium websites such as Ancestry, NewspapersArchive, and many more can be used without charge on our Center computers. Scanners for digitizing photos, slides, VHS videos, audio cassette tapes, and books are available on a first-come, first-served basis.
