The Nutcracker Ballet at Temple Hill | December 16
Note: Tickets for the Saturday performance of The Nutcracker are “sold out,” meaning all available seats have been reserved. However, there will be standby seating available, and historically, we’ve never turned anyone away. Tickets will expire 10 min before the performance, and the standby line will be admitted to fill any empty seats. So if you missed getting tickets, just arrive early and get in the standby line. Chances are high that you’ll be seated. There may possibly be more tickets available in a couple of weeks when we release the holds we have set aside for performers and their families. If any more become available, we will send an email to our templehill.org subscribers and post on @oaklandtemplehill Instagram and Facebook. So if you’d like to stay informed, subscribe and follow. Thanks!
Tchaikovsky’s enchanting ballet returns to delight Temple Hill this season. The charm and tradition begin with Clara’s awe of the festively adorned Christmas tree. When her wounded nutcracker transforms into the leader of the toy soldiers, a magical adventure transpires with the Mouse King, Clara’s hero: the Prince, the Sugar Plum Fairy, and various sweets from around the globe. You won’t want to miss the talented dancers, beautiful sets, and all-around artistry of this performance.
Producing and presenting “The Nutcracker” ballet for the very first time in 2010 was a dream come true for Rachel Tan, Director of Rachel’s Ballet. Each year since 2010, they have been invited back to Temple Hill to perform their FREE, full-length Nutcracker ballet. All performances have been “sold out” each year. Reserve your tickets early!
* These free community outreach performances are made possible by the generosity of Rachel Tan, Oakland Temple Hill, and through donations.
